Home > How We are Different
- Build collaboration. Everybody has to win in a health information
exchange (HIE) or it doesn’t get off the ground or flourish.
We are consensus–makers. This skill is one of our core competencies.
- Focus on outcomes driven process. We help a community determine
where it is in the process of moving toward an HIE and help it
to the next level – from the early stage start-ups to advanced
stage organizations expanding to new products, services, and stakeholders.
- Build momentum. Our goal is not just to document the right answer.
Our goal is to engage and expand participation by members of each
of the stakeholder group in a meaningful way to ensure ongoing
success, not just temporary wins.
- Manage the community-wide electronic transition. All participating
stakeholders in the community need to become increasingly electronic
to maximize the effectiveness of the community HIE. We help the
community develop electronic transition strategies for each of
the stakeholder groups.
- Deliver results even in the context of collaborations. No one
chooses to be in a collaboration if it isn’t necessary.
Collaborations are complicated, slow moving, and messy. People
do collaborations when they are the only way to solve difficult,
boundary-crossing problems. We are experienced at helping collaborations
make decisions and take action.
- Provide measurable diagnostic tools. We have useful tools to
help a community do such things as:
- “Quantify” its vision
- Determine its medical referral region
- Determine required functions of the HIE
- Calculate an ROI for various stakeholders
- Build a business model for the HIE
