Michael is a consultant with Strategies for Tomorrow and has 29 years experience in senior and executive level management positions including over 19 years in healthcare. Michael brings significant experience and practical skills to
strategic business planning, organizational structuring, and operational planning and execution. He has extensive experience in leading teams charged with improving quality, reducing costs, developing new products and services, and expanding market share. He is recognized for his ability to facilitate diverse groups in defining and achieving common goals and objectives, and for his ability to mediate and reconcile issues among differing constituencies.
Most recently Michael has served as an executive consultant in business planning, business development, organizational structuring, software product development, and technology management providing advice and guidance to several healthcare related organizations including a large healthcare system, three state-level HIE initiatives, two regional-level HIE initiatives, and two health information technology software companies involved in the development and sales of Identity and Security Management solutions, Personal Health Records, and Point-of-Care Decision Support applications.
During his 19 years in healthcare, beginning in 1992 and continuing into 2005,
Michael was actively involved in many early healthcare industry efforts to define and create telemedicine networks and health information networks (today’s HIEs and RHIOs). He has served on the Board of Owners and the Board of Managers for the Michiana Health Information Exchange (MHIN) an HIE located in South Bend Indiana, and he was the corporate executive responsible for operational oversight of MHIN.
Michael’s 36-year career in information and technology management
has provided him opportunities to serve several different industries
including healthcare, healthcare insurance, government, property
and casualty insurance, higher education, management and technology
consulting, software development and sales, and food manufacturing.
He has served at all levels from a computer programmer to a senior
manager to a senior executive with service on several organizational
boards.
